A WEDDING

The following picture is of Mr. Olivier Simoneau and of Miss Camy Annett. The picture was taken on their wedding day. This lovely couple started there home in Gaspe and raised a traditionally large family. This was characteristic of the  1900’s. Families in the Gaspé coast are large and very close. Everyone was relied on to keep the family functioning and healthy. Most families farmed and relied on the cod fishery for survival. This couple had 9 children and all were born and raised in the Gaspé in the town of  Douglastown. There home still stands in Douglastown.
