The season is finally over and Doug clinched the tenth position in points standings.
The year was a pretty good one for the DC30 race team, Driver Doug McKenrick and Crew chief Scott Ehrat took the IUPAT DC30 stock car to an amazing 13 heat race wins, 1 semi feature win, 3 feature wins, and winner of best appearing street stock at the annual oldtimers association car show.
Dougs wife Tammy stole the show today at the Peoria Speedway in the "Old Timers club" sponsored annual special events. Doug watched proudly as Tammy drove the DC#30 McKenrick Chevy to victory lane in a ladies only "Powder Puff" race.
Tammy led at the green flag before sliding up the track in turn two and slipping back to second place. But she continued to drive well, and after the leader did some sliding of her own in turn four, Tammy was able to regain the lead and hold on for the victory. Friends and family were thrilled to see her win, but no one expected the excitement that Tammy would next provide for all in attendance. With new confidence after winning her first race, she got behind the wheel for a second race to fill a short field of cars. Could she do it again? Not today Tammy! While fighting for position with another car, contact was made and Tammy found herself sliding sideways in turn four. She tried to correct but slid into the infield "mine tire" causing the car to twist and then ROLL OVER!! It is believed that she is the first female driver to ever roll a car at the Peoria Speedway. Doug and the safety crews hurried to her aid. She was not injured but was a bit shaken as Doug helped her exit the car. The car however was not so lucky. It sustained sheet metal damage and two blown tires. It is possible that an oil leak later in the program that ended the day for the team, was a result of the accident. Doug was to run in the "King of the Hill" event, and Scott was to drive in the "Mechanics" event. But hey, thanks for the racing entertainement Tammy!! BTW, Tammy told me that Doug said she had to pay for those tires. I'm sure he was kidding Tammy! RIGHT DOUG?
Doug did it again by repeating his performance of May 4th. Way To Go Doug!!

Doug continued his winning ways tonight by taking first place in his heat race, then going on to claim a third place finish in the Street Stock Division. Keep up the good work Doug!!!

McKenrick Racing gathered in a first place victory in his heat race and went on to take the checkered flag in the feature event too! He brought home all the marbles for the evening in the Street Stock Division. GOOD JOB DOUG and way to show off those DC30 colors by keeping it up front all night!! Check out the pictures of tonight's events. It's the best looking ride in the division, and tonight, the fastest.
