The Girl in the Cafeteria
I saw you sitting across a crowded hall,
And wondered who you were waiting for, If anyone at all.
I wondered if you’d seen me or even noticed I was there.
I wondered if I waved hello, would you really care?
I glanced over to see what you were doing
And you looked my way, “Is it me over whom you stewing?”
I could only wish that that you recognized me,
Because you were someone I really wanted to see.
So why am I sitting here still all alone?
Do I not have the courage to ask to call me on the phone?
You are still sitting there all by yourself.
Doing something unknown to me. I wonder if I could help.
I question your beauty every time I glance at you.
Wondering if when you look at me you might feel the same way too.
Are you alone waiting for your knight in shining armor,
Or are you just waiting for me to come on over?
I know I really want to but I really don’t know how,
To come over and say hi and tell you how I feel.
You’re walking away now and I know I cannot follow,
But hey, maybe you’ll be in here and I'll see you tomorrow.
