I'd love to know Lis' thoughts on the Supremes ducking the hot potato issue with the "under God" in the pledge case, and am I off base in my opinion that even one of their clerks should have had the sense to suggest refusing to hear it if all they were going to do was rule as they did. THE SUPREMES DEFINITELY 'DUCKED' THE SUBSTANTIVE ISSUE ON THE PLEDGE CASE...THEY DECIDED ON 'STANDING' OR 'JURISDICTIONAL' GROUNDS....I'M NOT SURE THAT THE CLERKS ETC COULD HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE ONCE THEY TOOK THE CASE..AND IT'S HARD NOT TO TAKE SUCH A 'CHARGED' CASE. Does Lis think NY Judge Laura Blackburne should be jailed or removed from the bench for helping a violent robbery suspect evade police? IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO 'JAIL' A SITTING JUDGE...BUT THE VOTERS CAN DECIDE WHETHER TO REMOVE HER.
