VIII. COURSE DESCRIPTION:  This course may be taught as a semester or as a one-year course. 
It is designed to help students develop a positive self-concept and improve the quality of their personal
and family lives through a study of peer pressure, stress, substance abuse, communication, family crisis, prevention of family violence, conflict resolution, decision making, and responsible sexual behavior.  Opportunities will be provided for values clarification, problem solving, and debate of contemporary issues.
