Top with cut up maraschino cherries Bake for 20 min. |

| Holiday Fruit Cookies Preheat oven to 375 1 C. margarine 2 C. brown sugar � C. sour milk (or buttermilk) 2 eggs 3 � C. sifted flour 1 tsp. Baking soda � tsp. Salt 1 C. cut-up candied red and green cherries 1 pkg. chopped dates 1 C. chopped nuts Cream margarine and sugar; add eggs and mix well. Sift flour, soda, and salt together. Add milk and flour alternately and mix well. Remove from mixer and stir in cherries, dates and nuts by hand. Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake 8-10 min. Do not over bake. These cookies freeze well. You can add more cherries if desired. |

| Oatmeal Cookies � C. margarine � C. shortening 1 C. white sugar 1 C. brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 � C. sifted flour 1 tsp. Baking soda 1 tsp. Salt 3 C. quick cook oats � C. chopped nuts � C. coconut Cream fats and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt together and add gradually. Remove from mixer. By hand, mix in oats, nuts and coconut. Chill dough refrigerator. Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake 10-12 min. until lightly browned at 375. Makes 5 doz. 3� cookies |
