Text: The Child Care Professional Preparing for Career Success From School to Work VIII. Course Description: Students learn to observe and guide preschool children through a variety of experiences as they prepare for a career in the area of child care. The course begins with an overview of the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional characteristics of young children. Students participate in lab situations with preschoolers as they build and develop guidance skills; plan and initiate curriculum strategies; and work with parents and teachers. The class content is reinforced with mentoring experiences in local day care and preschool facilities. Course Fee: $20 |
