| How.... ...did Russ propose to Michelle? Back when they first started dating, Russ carved their intials in a tree at McDonald Park in Medford, Mass. His parents did the same thing at the same park when they were married years before. Russ and Michelle went to McDonald Park for a bike ride on the Fourth of July and planned on meeting Russ's mother (Debbie), sister-in-law (Janet), and two nephews (Devan and Michael) at the park for a bike ride and to hang out for a while before his family went to see the fireworks at the Charles River that night. After a little bit of talking, Debbie "happened" to notice that they were standing next to the tree that their initials were carved in and insisted on them taking a picture. After the picture, Russ said to Michelle, "Did you ever see what was on the other side of this tree?" Michelle followed him around the tree and saw "Will You Marry Me? 7-4-01". By the time she looked back at him, he was on his knee with the ring. |

| The engagement ring. Russ chose the ring without Michelle's input, and ended up getting her exactly what she would have chosen herself. | |||||||||||
