Blasting Horn In Church Compound
On 20 July 2002, my wife and I were at SIC for evening mass. His Grace, the
Arch Bishop Soter was celebrating mass there. After mass, we noticed a few cars
blasting their horns like crazy. A car was blocking the road leading out of the
church compound.
Let's reflect when a car is blocking our way in the church compound
after mass:
- Our fellow brother or sister in Christ may be delayed by the throng
of people who pack the church for weekend mass.
- Some parishioners prefer to stay on until the entire mass ends ie.,
until the priest leaves the church.
- Remember Our Father prayer..... as we forgive those who sin against
us; and not let it be just words - walk the talk.
- Remember the church is a sacred place. It's holy ground. We should
act reverently in the church compound.
- Remember the theme, "We are the Church". We are all members
of the church community and should compromise a little especially to our
brothers and sisters in Christ.
