Posters and billboards are one of the most insidious of media. When asking young creatives to present their "big ideas," the legendary David Bernstein says, "Show me the poster." And he's right. A good poster brings together a visual and a verbal idea in such a way that 1+1=3. Brevity is the trademark of the effective outdoor communication, but is not mandatory if the location allows for a good read (picture yourself stuck in a railway carriage staring at a poster for 20 minutes and you'll see what I mean).
