Why Me? Chapter Eighteen ---Danny's POV--- Our little discussion about enjoying our holiday had just finished and I was now just lazing around my room, as Sarah had just gone to get some drinks from the shop downstairs, when my phone started bleeping. I took it out and answered. 'Hello?' I asked, as I didn't recognise the number. 'Hello, this is Claire from the Manchester City Hospital, I'm calling about Anna. I assume you know here?' 'Um, yeah what happened, is she Ok?' I questioned starting to get worried. 'Well I can't give out much information over the phone, but I can tell you that she was found in an alleyway next to the airport, unconscious. She is in a very bad condition, and as we couldn't get hold of her parents, we called the first person in her phone book, which was you' 'OMG, is she gonna be ok?' This can't be happening 'Well she is in a very un-stable condition, so we don't know for definite' 'We'll get there as soon as we can' I said, and then put the phone down. Just as I did Sarah walked into the room. 'Hellllllllllllooooooooo!!!' she said in a very jolly voice 'Sarah pack you're things, we got to get to Manchester as soon as possible, Anna's in hospital, she might not make it' Her face dropped and a tear came from her eye, 'How? Why?' she asked 'I don't know but we have to go NOW! I'm gonna go get the others' she nodded I walked out of the room and knocked on Harrys door, then Toms door and told them both the news, they were very upset about it, but the worst was yet to come, Dougie. I walked over to his room, and knocked on his door. 'What?' he asked, opening the door looking like he had been crying. 'Bad news, really bad news, Anna's in hospital, she's in a really bad condition, she might not live. We have to get back there right now, especially you, she will be stronger if you are there' he just nodded and went and started packing. I was very surprised at how he took it so well; even Tom and Harry had taken it worse than him. Spose he was just being brave. -------- We got on the next flight back to Manchester and headed straight to the Hospital. But when we got there we were given bad news, not the worst news but still bad. 'Her condition has only got worse, she really needs to have someone with her to talk to her and support her, she is coming in and out of consciousness, but she can always hear you so someone close to her would really help her.' said the nurse. Dougie walked straight into the room without saying a word to anyone and ran straight over to her and started talking to her, all he wanted was for her to be ok. So he would sit there 24/7 for the rest of his and her life if he needed to. Back |
