Untitled Chapter six �Hello stud! So did your date go well or have you spent the last hour crying?� Harry asked from the sofa as soon as Danny got inside the door. �No, it went great!� he sat down beside Harry in the sofa. �There were non of those awkward silences, I didn�t embarrass myself and we flirted loads. She�s really great� �Danny�� Harry said in a girly voice. He looked at Danny with big puppy-eyes as he continued �are�are you goin� to leave me for her?� Harry sobbed. �Shut up!� Danny yelled annoyed and increased the volume on the TV to hear it over Harry�s laud laughing. 24 hours later Danny was sitting by the phone. He studied his arm one last time before he, with a deep breath, lifted the phone. �Danny! Dude, not the very next day. Have some class!� Tom said as he passed Danny on his way to the fridge. �Yeah�No I wasn�t goin� to!� �You know you�re eventually goin� to have to shower. Why don�t you write down that phone number before you forget?� Tom suggested and took a bite of a apple. �Dougie! Why do you keep putting the apples in the fridge?! They�re freakin� freezing!� �Because you don�t want to keep �em with the bananas� Dougie explained. �What?! There�s bananas? Get �em out of here!� Danny sighed. Two days, that�s classy enough he thought and wrote down the number on a piece of paper and shoved it down his pocket. Beep�beep��Hello?� �Hi Hayley, it�s Danny.� �Oh�hi�� �So�ehm�I thought, maybe you�d wanna get together again?� Danny said a little put off by her cold and distant greeting. �No, sorry, I don�t think that�s such a good idea� �Why not? Last time was a blast, wasn�t it?� �Yeah, it was. It�s just��Hayley sighed �it�s complicated. I don�t think we should see each other again.� �Complicated? How?� �It just is. Could we please not discuss this over the phone?� �You�re the one who thinks it�d be a bad idea to get together again.� �Ok, ok�I�ll see you tomorrow. Same time, same place?� �Yeah, ok� �Ok, gotta go. Bye� Beeeeeeep� Danny put the phone down startled. What was that all about? She didn�t want to see him again? Why? Their last date had been amazing, or at least that�s what Danny thought. Danny was standing in front of the mirror admiring himself. He was wearing grey/blue jeans too low on his bum and a green sweater. He looked casual, not too overdressed but still nice. He glanced down at his watch. !5 minutes, 15 minutes before he was going to see her. It was time to go. He took a couple of slow, deep breaths to gather curage. �Hey! Danny get goin� already! You don�t want to miss her� �No I won�t, I�m on my way� Danny went out in the hallway and pulled his hand through his hair one last time. �Don�t wait up!� he said to Harry as he went out the door. Danny walked around the corner and saw the caf�. As he walked towards it he noticed Hayley sitting alone at a table for two in the yard belonging to the caf�. She seemed nervous. `She�s early, that must be a good sign� Danny thought to himself as he closed in on the caf�. �Hayley� Danny greeted coldly as he sat down in front of her trying to keep cool. �Hi�� She said quietly. �So�What�s so complicated?� he asked. Danny had never been big on �small talk� and he just didn�t see the point in avoiding the real issue. Hayley sighed loudly before she talked. �I don�t know where to start�� �Why don�t you start with explaining why you didn�t wanna go out with me again?� �Ok. The reason we should not see each other is my boyfriend. I�m taken, and cheating on him would be wrong. Not just to him but to you too� �You have a boyfriend? Why did you lie to me?� � Because� Well have you ever heard of the exception list?� Danny had no clue what she was talking about and Hayley sighed before explaining to him. �It�s a list of five celebrity�s you�re allowed to�hook up with without your partner getting to hold it against you� �So what? What has that got to do with anything?� �Well I�ve got one, and you�re number one on it� she said quietly and looked down at the table, ashamed. �You mean�you mean all you ever wanted out of this was to rightfully cheat on your boyfriend?� ��� Hayley was still watching the table and only gave a small nod. �You stupid�! Just cause we�re famous doesn�t mean we don�t have feelings!� Danny had got up from his chair and was walking away from the caf�, away from Hayley. �Danny wait! Hayley ran up after him. �I know you have feelings, that�s why I didn�t go through with it. You seemed to want more.� �Oh, so you finally dug out that tiny conscience of yours. Why should I believe you? All you ever did was lie!� �That�s not fair, and so not true! I might have lied about not having a boyfriend but c�mon how many of the girls you�ve dated since you became a star don�t you think did that?� �I don�t know! Non of �em were ever stupid enough to tell me!� �Yeah�or they didn�t like you and care about you enough to not wanna to hurt you� �They didn�t! You did!� Hayley fell silent. �I�m sorry Danny� she whispered. �So am I� Danny walked away. He continued walking until he had calmed down, by then he had gone past the apartment building a long time ago. �Hey Danny, wanna go do something?� �No� Danny answered Dougie and changed the TV-channel again. �C�mon!� Dougie moaned. �No that�s ok dude. I don�t feel like it.� �C�mon�you can�t spend the rest of your days thinking about that girl, you know.� �Can�t you go and play with Tom or Harry?!� Danny asked a tiny bit irritated. �No, they�re all busy. Harry�s on a date and Tom�s writing some new song.� �Leave me alone Dougie!� �Fine, ok� You know if it�d been any other girl you�d been over it by now� Dougie added on his way out. Back |
