A Walk in the Sun Chapter Eleven Dougie drove Hayley home in his forest green truck. As they pulled up to her house, Hayley glanced at the clock. It was 10:02. "I have nearly 30 minutes 'til I'm expected back," Hayley announced. "Shall we sit in here, and have a chat, it�s rather chilly out," Dougie offered. "By golly let's!" Hayley replied. "Dougie what's that smell?" "Sorry," "Awww Dougie!" "I tried to hold it in for your sake darling," he said. Hayley laughed. "You're so cute!" she said pinching his right cheek. Dougie batted his eye lashes. "You're not so bad yourself," he replied. They kissed, and Hayley's heart melted. Tom and Hillary went out the night of their first kiss, and every other night after that they could. All Tom talked about was Hillary. All Hillary talked about was Tom. They�re like an old married couple; I swear they know everything about each other. Tom said he was completely over Eberlie; however the rest of us didn't believe him. Every time she came around he got all fidgety and would sneak away. Hillary noticed this after awhile. "Tom tell me something, do you still like Eberlie?" she asked. Tom thought about this all through Algebra II, and finally at lunch, when he saw Eberlie laughing with Hayley he knew. "Yes" Tom said to Hillary. "I'm sorry to hear that Tom, you know you're gonna have to choose between us, I can't date someone that likes someone else," she replied with a shaky voice. "I know," Tom winced. "Well?" Hillary said sounding annoyed. "Can I have some time, at least 'til tomorrow?" he asked. "Sure whatever," she said. Tom started to apologize, but Hillary was already halfway across the lunch room. "Please Linley will you just talk to me" "Harry, I told you already, I'm going out with Danny, go back to Eberlie, you two were good together," I said. Harry grabbed my arm just as Danny walked around the corner. "Harry please don't do this," I pleaded, as I watched Danny barging through the sea of nerds, emos, and preps. "Harry stop it," Danny yelled angrily, "Can't you see she doesn't like you?" Harry turned to me, "the second you break up, call me," he said before walking away. I didn't even respond, as Danny drug me away into the whirling hallway full of punks, jocks, and burnouts. "Hey Dougie!" Hayley said happily. "Happy Halloween Hayley!" Dougie said putting a blue vampire mask on. Hayley backed away jokingly. "What's the matter you don't like my mask?" he said pretending to be hurt. "I'll live," Hayley giggled, then yelped as Dougie picked her small body up, and slung her over his shoulder. Coach Francis appeared around the corner yelling, "put her down Duuuugie!" drawing out the U sound in his name. "We were just playing Coach," he replied. "And take that ridiculous mask off!" he said. "Yes Sir!," Dougie replied whipping off the mask to reveal his stunning green eyes. Tonight is the Halloween dance at a country club called Woodberry Farms. Of course we all know who's going together right? I'm going with Danny, and we are gonna be fairies. Dougie and Hayley are going together as a vampire, and a vampire's maiden. Tom will choose between Eberlie and Hillary, and whoever doesn't go with Tom will go with Harry. After thinking about it for a few days, Tom finally chose Eberlie to go out with. Unfortunately for him, she had other plans. "Sorry Tom, Harry and I got back together this morning, you should ask Hillary!" she said. So there you have it: Me and Danny, Eberlie and Harry, Dougie and Hayley, and Tom and Hillary. And that my McFly friends, is how the cookie crumbled. Back |
