A Walk in the Sun Chapter Four At school on Monday, everyone was staring at me and whispering. "Why are they acting like this?" I asked Hillary. "Probably because you went to the dance with Danny Jones," she said. "They never looked at me before I went out with Danny," I said. "That's because you were a loser and they're shallow," she replied. "Thanks," I said rolling my eyes. "Hey Lin Lin," a mysterious hand punched me playfully. "Dougie!" I hugged him. Howd it go with Merrell?" I asked. "Ehh it was ok but-", he was cut off by - "Linley!" Hayley came barreling through the other kids, including a freshman named Taylor Hagely. He was what you call nerdy, and an apple shiner. "Hey now!" he yelped as his glasses fell off, and his books dropped on Miranda's foot. Miranda yelped in pain and backed up into a sophomore named Marion, who bumped into a guy holding a clipboard. His clipboard fell out off his hands and hit a kid who was unfortunate enough to have a bottom locker. That kid fell back, and tripped the band teacher, Mr. Fulwider, who was carrying a drum and dropped it. It rolled past me, Dougie, and Hillary who had our mouths wide open. "My bad," Hayley winced, then walking toward us. "You just-" I started but was cut off by Dougie laughing. "That was hilarious!" he cackled. And it was. Especially the Mr. Fulwider part, he thought he was all that. Dougie gently patted Hayley's shoulder and said good going, then started to walk away. Suddenly he turned around and looked strait into Hayley's eyes. "The dance with Merrell was just ok Lin," he said before walking away again. I had a feeling that this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Tom and Danny's phone conversation. Tom- Danny? Danny- yea? Tom- I don't know what to do Danny- about Eberlie and Hillary?
