A Walk in the Sun Chapter Two "Hey what�s the favor?" I asked Danny (he smelled so good!). "Alright you know I'm in a band called McFly? Well, we want to play at the dance on Friday. Can you make it happen?" he asked looking at me hopefully. I knew I could no problem, but this was a moment to take advantage of, and so I did. "Sure thing, but you have to do me a favor in return," I said. "Shoot," he said. "Umm well u have to get tom to take Hillary to the dance," I could have asked Danny to go with me, but no, I�m such a dunce, I swear. "Um, I�ll try, but I can�t make any promises. Tom likes Eberlie, you know," he said. "Yeah no pressure, I�ll do it for you no matter what," I told him. "Wow thanks you�re cool," said the now smiling king of hot guitar players/singers (he smelled so good!). "See ya!" he nodded, his dark hair caressing his perfect face a beautiful blue eyes. Ahhh Danny. I sat by Eberlie at lunch that day. "So how's Harry?" I asked chewing a bite of my turkey pita. "I haven't talked to him today," she replied. "That�s weird, I mean you guys are like best friends forever, ya know?" I said. "Yea," she said. Awkward silence. "Mmmmmbaaaaa!!!!!!!!" I suddenly belted out. Eberlie smiled, "wow you sure know how to break an awkward silence Linley," she laughed. "Thanks," I said. "Dougie!!!" I squealed as he walked up to our table. He was my best guy friend. "Sup Lin," he nodded towards me, and took a seat in-between me and Hayley. Hayley's face was pure Kodak moment. "Hey Dougie," she said nonchalantly. Wow! I was proud of her, her voice didn't shake. "Sup Hayley," Dougie said. He didn�t talk much. It's a wonder we're even friends, me being all hyper and all. Dougie was cute; he had medium dark coloured hair, green eyes, and a nice face. I could see why Hayley liked him. But, I liked Danny, a lot. He just walked by our table on the way to his. Ahhh, Danny Jones. I fixed my hair in a compact mirror, and then strolled over to Danny. "You�re in," I said, then kept walking. 5-4-3-2-1. "Really sweet," he said smiling. Ahhh the walk-by works every time. "Yea so who are you going with?" I asked him. D'oh! Why�d I have to ask that? "You," he said and stared into my eyes, �if that's ok," he added. OKAY?! IT WAS MORE THAN OK! IT WAS PERFECT! "Wow uh, ok great," I managed to say. "Thanks, awesome, see you!" he said. "Later gator," I said before walking away. The rest of the day was a blur. I was going to the dance with Danny. Danny Jones. Me. wow. What was he thinking? He could have any girl, but he chose me. ME! The dork who says later gator! "That awesome Lin, you get to go to the dance with your dream guy, and mine gets taken by Merrell Morgan!" Hayley pouted. "Aww cheer up Hayley, there are other Dougies in the sea," I said sympathetically. "There�s no one else like him Lin! He�s cute, quiet, kind, cute..." she babbled. Back |
