A Secret to Hold Close
Chapter Thirteen

Mylie returned to her hotel and when she walked in their room Jess glanced up from where she was watching TV. �Uh oh, what�s the matter?� Jess said after taking one look at Mylie�s face. �Did something happen with Danny?�

�No, that was great. I just� I�m having second thoughts about dating him, if that�s what I can call this, because what am I going to say when I have to go home?� Mylie looked at her sister helplessly, �I know that it has to end there because if I spend anymore time with him then I�m bound to let it slip about the cancer. And I don�t want that.�

Jess frowned, �Mylie, do you want my opinion?� She nodded and Jess continued, �Tell him. I have a feeling that he can handle it and having him with you will be a big help.�

Mylie sighed, remembering what Susan had said, and gave her sister a weak smile, �I�ll think about it ok?�

�That�s all I want.� Her golden sister replied.

�I�m going to take a bath. Can you bring me the phone if Danny calls?� Mylie asked.

�Oh! That�s reminds me. Tom called about two minutes before you got here and said that they had a movie release thing tonight and they had tickets for us if we wanted to come.� Mylie couldn�t help but catch the slight blush that spread across her sister�s face. She ran and jumped onto the couch.

�We�ve spent so much time on me that I haven�t asked you how things are with you and Tom.� Mylie said with a smile as her sister�s blush deepened.

�He�s really great Mylie! He is by far the sweetest guy I have ever dated.� Mylie sat there and let her sister gush about Tom for a little while. It was kind of nice talking to her sister about something other then being sick again.

�Well that�s really great Jess. I�m really happy for you. He seems like a great guy, someone you can be happy with.� Mylie said, giving her sister a hug.

�He is and I am.�

Mylie smiled and got up off the couch. She headed to the bathroom to take a nice relaxing bath and get ready for tonight�

The two sisters climbed into the back of McFly�s limo and sat down by their guy. Danny leaned down and kissed Mylie before wrapping his arm around her and Tom did the same to Jess. Harry had a date, some girl that he had gone to grade school with who he ran into earlier that day, and Dougie was going solo.

Mylie looked amazing in a black and white knee length silk dress with all back and white accessories and Jess looked just as good in a deep red tunic style top with back capri pants and black wedge shoes. The boys dutifully commented on how beautiful their dates looked, like good dates do.

�So what movie are we seeing?� Jess asked Tom.

�Um it�s the premiere of Spiderman 2.� He said, �There are perks to being famous, we get to see cool movies before everyone else!� Everyone laughed.

When they arrived at the Red Carpet everyone climbed out of the limo and into the flashing war of photographers� cameras. This time Mylie didn�t have any trouble but Danny held onto her hand the whole time and Jess also stuck close by in case something was to happen. The got inside and to their seats. The movie was great with amazing special effects and the whole group really enjoyed it. After the movie the boys had to do some quick interviews and pictures with some reports.

Mylie saw Danny whispering something to one photographer and pass him a piece of paper. The guy nodded and Danny smiled. Danny turned and walked over to Mylie, taking her hand. �Come on, this guy is going to take a picture of us and then send it to me. I don�t want to forget tonight.�

Mylie started to complain, �Come on Danny! You know how I don�t like to have my picture taken!�

Danny stopped and looked at her. He quietly said, �Mylie, please? I know I won�t ever forget you but I want to have proof that I was with an amazingly gorgeous girl tonight.� It was just then that the photographer, seeing an amazing shot, snapped a picture of Danny looking down into Mylie�s eyes while holding both of her hands.

Mylie nodded and then they turned and smiled for the photographer but he was certain that none of the other pictures were as good as the candid one�

The McFly boys took the Larson girls home and Danny and Tom each kissed their date goodnight, asked about doing something the next day, and then when they had gotten a yes they climbed back into the limo.

Mylie and Jess, holding hands, walked up to their room and crashed for the night both really excited about their plans for the next day�

The next morning the door bell rang at the McFly house and Danny happened to be the one to open the door. It was a package from the photographer the night before. Danny tipped the messenger and opened the envelope. Inside were two pictures. The top picture was a posed picture where Danny had his arm around Mylie and they were both smiling into the camera. He slid that one back into the envelope as he caught sight of the other one. It was a candid shot that the photographer must have taken when Danny was taking to Mylie. He was looking down into her bright gold eyes while she was looking up at him and he was holding both of her hands in his. It was better then he could have expected. He traced a finger around Mylie�s face and smiled.

He had never felt this was about a girl before� Maybe he should let her know that�
