If you are the parent of a kindergartener, then you are invited to the Boo Hoos and Bagels on August 19th (first day of school) at 8:10 in the cafeteria. Drop your child off at their classroom and come join us for a little emotional support or just to meet other parents of children in your child's class.
"Mr. Alexander and I would like to welcome you to our Magness Creek Family." Haley Hancock Your PTO President
In order to help five year olds embark on their journey to Kindergarten, here is a list of the important rules about life:
Don't be afraid to ask where the restroom is. Always put on your pants before you put on your shoes. When using scissors, make sure you point them away from your good shirt. Flush. Share. Color in the lines. Wear your jacket outside on cold days even if it covers up your Batman cape. It doesn't matter where you stand in line as long as you're in it. Don't bother mixing purple and orange paint. No matter what anyone tells you, you will never be left at school to fend for yourself after all of the other children have gone home. The kitchen area isn't just for girls. Never call anyone a buggernose. Don't eat crackers with wet hands. Wait patiently for your turn. Try not to smear your nametag. When in doubt, raise your hand. Don't lick your glue stick. Don't spit in the water fountain. On the first day of school, cry a little bit for your parent's sake. And, most importantly, give them a good-bye kiss. They'll need it.
