Research Paper: Describe the institution of slavery in the United States from the Missouri Compromise to the 1850s in regards to an analysis of the social facets and personal conditions created and perpetuated by slavery including - but not limited to - family life, repsonsibilities, manumission, and culture. Secondly, please discuss how the personal experiences of Frederick Douglass both accurately reflect the instutition of slavery you described above as well as contradict the generalities that were atypical of the institution.
