Notes: Did SVU lend L&O one of their plots? Was there an abundance of episodes
which SVU didn't need and simply handed it over to the mother show? I don't
know if SVU would have done a better job at this, but when you have this being
aired on L&O it doesn't bode well. I can simply say this episode STUNK! It
wouldn't be a stretch to put this in the "Stiff" league as one of the
worst episodes ever. I won't bother comparing this to any other ep, since it
wouldn't do any justice.
I don't want to spend too much time on this because it was really that bad. Let
me only say the plot of supposed a love interest gone south turns to
accusations of rape and then allegations of the accused being a lesbian. This
had so many twists and turns that reaked of season 10 that I was about ready to
change the channel. What compounded this mess was the acting of everyone, be it
the suspects, the parents, and yes even the main 6 characters. Did Lennie have
some kind of cold or sore throat? Now I'm beginning to see why Serena needs to
depart soon. For the record, I saw the man who played the killer's father in
person last weekend at a concert. He is a singer who has done Broadway and
opera. Perhaps the only bright spot from an otherwise horendous cast. Some of
you might think that was David Groh there, but his real name is Mark Jacoby.
Even if Groh was in this ep, he wouldn't be able to save the day.
I can only hope this was a bad dream, an abberation, that we won't be seeing
for at least another two years. For the next two weeks at least, there will be
some new episodes to see. Hopefully, they will be the perfect cure for the ills
I'm and some of you must be feeling. Until then, just get out your tapes of the
best eps from the glory days and call me in the morning.
