Final Grade-83/100 or a B-
Notes: I have counted and recounted my grades so as to not cause any confusion,
particularly for those of you in Florida.
This was an interesting ep because it took a usual MO or murder for hire and
jealousy and added some twists to it. It sort of reminded me of both "The
Fertile Fields" and "Securitate."
One thing I must ask at the offset. Can a person who is of a different religion
and have dual citizenship in another country be permitted to be tried and
punished in that country. Come to think of this ep, I am now reminded of John
Denmanjuk trial where an Ohio retiree was tried in Israel for being an alleged
Nazi. How would this ep be different from "True North" whereby a
Canadian woman was forced to stand trial and got the DP here in the US even
though the Canadian government opposes the DP and the extradition.
As to the ep itself. A 35 year old man being bald and proclaiming his
Jewishness. What was it with this character? He was dressed up like a mobster
throughout the ep. As Adam would say "That father of his defines the word
zealot." Bruce Altman was good as the defense attorney, albeit a smaller
role than in his previous stints. Politics interfering in this process. Seems
that Nora can be persuaded after all, but is still more firmer than Adam.
Next week's ep looks interesting because it seems it will have a member of the
Islamic faith involved. Looks like an explosive one which could resemble
"Sanctuary." How will Nora deal with this one? Will she permit the
defendant, if he is Muslim, to be extradited to his home to serve his sentence?
I am still praying that Shambala will make at least one guest appearance and
have a toe to toe with McCoy.
I did like seeing Nora at the computer. We are now truly in the new millenium.
This ep was good and I liked the special tribunal of the three rabbis to
determine the defendant's Jewishness. Only thing missing was Jerry Stiller. He
was great in his two appearances.
