Notes:

I was anticipating a little more passion and fire from the main principals when it concerns the death of a cop or a DA, particularly like Refuge , part II.  Despite lacking that intensity, I found this ep to be very interesting and kept me intrigued throughout.

It was a good thing they kept back and forth between the Parenti murder and Tofosky murders, because it seemed the plot was weaving too much and seemed to end up out of control.

While it seemed the mafia was done and kaput after the Gotti conviction, it's head pops up once again with our favorite crime family the Massuccis.  This is the second ep this year where we've heard of that name.   Even though the don has been dead for over a decade now, it seems Katherine Massucci couldn't chop down the entire tree.  I must say that were it not for the mob angle or anything having to do with organized crime, this ep would have been a real downer.

The disappointing thing was not seeing an enraged Jack McCoy, someone who would have pushed the envelope in the old days.  Put it this way, I was expecting Jack going after these mobsters like he would have gone after the drunk who killed Claire if given the chance.

Nice cameo by Mayor Bloomberg in his brief two spots.  The second one seemed to be somewhat rehearsed or like a typical press conference.  I was disappointed only Arthur showed up and not everyone else.

A note about Adam Schiff.  It would have been real nice to have seem him in the past two eps, about the Nazi guard last week and this one when his name was mentioned.  I hope Steven Hill is feeling great, but a little blast from the past wouldn't hurt.

We now seem to have a better timeline about Jack McCoy and his working relationships.  Seems it was Dan Tofosky who was his assistant before Claire, Jaime, Abby, and Serena came along.

I liked the little quip from Lennie about trying out law school, considering he was one in Wages of Love.  Maybe he might be doing something like that in the new TBJ spinoff.

Finally, when are we going to see Judge Billie Jean King!
