Season 11 Review
By Hank 74
Notes: What we saw in this ep was a
good first half with the investigation. But then the "Order" part
dove into more psychobable about sports rage and parents taking the fall for
their kid's behavior.
It has been mentioned this compares to "Doubles." But I also think this ep is like "Wannabe" in sort of reverse. Yes, the father takes the blame for the kid and is willing to go to jail. But then the father in "Thin Ice" is still willing to go to jail and doesn't want the son's help. In "Wannabe" in the end, it was the father who wanted to help the son but he refused. As a matter of fact, I had cast Bruce Kirkpatrick, the middle class father in "Wannabe," to be the father of the player who kills his coach in "Thin Skin Ice" after the coach was riding him hard.
In "Thin Ice" we got a slow debate about sports rage
through a prolonged trial that to me didn't sound interesting.
What really ticks me off is not having Skoda present to at least do the
interview when Jack was going to use his report and findings at trial. This is
a blatent no-no in my book and should never be repeated again. Either put Skoda
out there front and center or don't use him at all and put the perps mental
state in play.
This grade will be a 75/100 or a solid C.
Message to TPTB, when it comes to putting out a bad product and you slip that
by the first time, heed the advice of Adam "Don't tempt me."
