Notes:
As I
expected, when I saw the promo last week, this was going to be an excellent
episode. Nothing here indicated otherwise. I was glued from start
to finish. Without question, this was one of the best eps of this
season. You have to wonder if the season finale will hold the same
weight.
I loved how
they put in Falco and made us believe that he might have committed the crime,
but didn't go out of their way to make it obvious. It was also good to
put together the string of suspects from A to B and make it easy for us to
decipher who was eventually the culprit.
I could
understand Falco wanting to clear his name out of this situation. But
rules are rules. Besides, as someone who was thinking of becoming a
lawyer last year, why would he want to risk all of this and get involved with
this victim in the first place. He is certainly lucky to be innocent and
alive now. I hope he does come back either as a guest or as a potential
replacement down the line. But this situation is going to make that very
hard to believe he can be credible. Just look at what happened to Profaci
a few years back.
On a bit of
a sidetrack, with Falco's marital situation, do you wonder what can happen to
Stabler next year on SVU. That guy can certainly snap and be involved in
a similar situation as was tonight.
The thing
that now troubles me a bit is what happens to Keisha and her boyfriend?
Do they get to do some time on this as well. More importantly, does Falco
go back to his old job carrying a gun and investigating crimes. Also, why
wasn't IAD involved? Isn't there some procedure that they must step
in? I'm thinking that VB didn't want them to step in right now so as to
avoid possible embarrassment.
I did enjoy
the superb acting, particularly from the guests, and the plot line. Next
week's finale will have a lot of work to do to live up to this same billing.
