Notes:

Talk about perfect timing.  Several things in real life were inspirations for this ep.  First, was the McGreevey scandal in NJ that everyone knows by now.  Come next Monday, he will officially resign as governor.  Second, and fewer people know this, the CT governor resigned this summer over some kickbacks and other shady deals with his cronies.  Finally, the whole issue of gay marriage playing a central role in the presidential election and now word that President Bush is going to push once again for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage once and for all.  As for the first two events, I'm sure TPTB were licking their chops going after both the NJ and CT governors like they did and not risked being sued because of their own scandals.  Looks like Pataki is a choir boy for now.

As for this ep, I liked the way they took a RFTH story and injected so many twists and turns and raw politics to make this interesting.  Some had fears this would be another boring ep.  But the way you make a story that was a national headline not become a yawner is put in a dash of this, a dash of that, and mix in the rising tension between Serena, Arthur, and Jack.  What you get is a quality episode that should be considered right now as one of the best of this season.

Needless to say, the investigative part the first half hour was very good too with Joe and Ed quietly doing their job and not allowing politics or personal feelings get involved in the case.  In short, they were very professional and the chemistry between the two is only getting better.

Not a bad job done taking a complicated issue along with recent events and making it provacative and entertaining.
