Notes:

To begin, I will be using from now on the word "Support" to refer to the "Supporting Cast."  I'm doing this so as to not type so much anymore on that line.

This was clearly a much improved ep compared to last week's finale crossover with SVU.  I liked how they used a 10 year old case to solve this one.  When I saw the tease last week, I was thinking about an open case from S6 that Lennie and Rey did which could have fit the bill.  Now I realize it was one of Joe's cases.

Speaking of Fontana, this guy completely amazes me!  This was an outstanding development of his character that what we've seen before.  At one time, you feel bad for him.  At other times, you think he was a mean old SOB back then and perhaps even now.  But you have to agree that he is also a human being.  I loved the clashes he had with Jack.  You get the sense this will be more intense than any of the classic Lennie/Jack battles, like that famous Hoboken line from "Corruption."  I have a feeling there will be a bigtime brawl breaking out between the two transplanted Chicagoans before the season is done.  You know where my money is on, the new guy.  BTW, I also loved how the impending friction between him and Van Buren is growing.  It seems that Fontana is trying to establish his turf and those around him are irritating him to the point where something memorable might happen.  What did you think about him in that video from 10 years ago.

One final point.  It's clear this year's DA election is going to be more focused than the last major one back in season 8 when Adam was running against Judge Feldman.  Interesting though that we didn't see anything in season 4 nor in season 12, presuming the DA's term is for four years.  Season 12 was Nora's last one and as many has speculated, she was an appointee who was interested in running again.  What I'd like to see though is someone running against Arthur so as to add that twist into the mix.   Maybe it could be someone like a judge or former ADA, or current one.  I'm thinking possibly someone like Robinette or Judge Wright as a possible foil with a rich person financing the campaign.  Maybe Regina Mulroney could come back or something.  But I'd like to see a repeat of S8 in that aspect.
