Notes:
Can only say this is a keeper and
will go down as one of the top eps of Season 13. I liked the fact they took a
simple case from the beginning and turned it into a more complex issue
involving current events. That's why it got a perfect 10 on the value grade.
How Jack was able to keep the jury's eyes on the ball that a young man was
killed over a large debt, despite the antics of defense counsel and an apparent
bias on the part of the judge is amazing. Although this wouldn't have worked,
could you imagine had the defense counsel been Ross Feinman from
"Angel" and Judge Wright was presiding? I think Jack would have blown
his stack then as I'm sure he would have in this one had it gotten to that
point.
I'm sure you have some similar thoughts about what
happened here and the underlying discussion of the situation in Israel and the
bigger issue of fighting terrorism. Yet I'm satisfied with the jury's verdict.
They did the right thing. Killing is killing and there is no defense for that,
even in the name of religion.
