Season 11 Review

Bronx Cheer

I have just seen "Bronx Cheer" for the first time and was impressed by what it had to present. All of you were right in saying it was a great episode and worthy of seeing again and again. Look at my new Season 11 Rankings to see where I placed it with the rest. BTW, my grade would be a 90 overall.

Of course there are many comparisons between this ep and "Jurisdiction" from season 3. Lennie would be the only character with a connection to both and I wished he could have done more in bringing out his character like they did in "Jurisdiction"

Now that I have seen both episodes, I have to say that "Jurisdiction" would still get the slight nod as being the better episode because of the flow and the underlying issues. I say this because "Jurisdiction" had Davey Zifrin played by Michael Badalucco of "The Practice" who had a history of mental issues and was struggling to get by in life. Plus he was represented by Shambala Green who was so compelling in her own right. Schaffer's lawyer in "Bronx Cheer" wasn't seen very much at all. Finally you can tell that Frank Lazar truly had an agenda, be it moving up to elective office or something else, whereas the Bronx DA just was playing CYA and didn't want the stink of the screwup in the Bronx police office. I wished they could have done more with the Bronx police in the "Order" side to see if any crimes were committed like obstructing justice or perjury.

Don't get me wrong, "Bronx Cheer" was good and should be seen whenever possible, but to me "Jurisdiction" had more and hence would get my nod in a comparison of the two eps.
