Notes:

I was impressed with the investigation and keeping things rather simple to find out who packed in the extra powder that produced the big blaze. The third part with the trial going on with all the witnesses and questions from both sides was well paced and reminded me a bit of the old days. Then when the girl's credibility came up on the stand, I had a sense of "here we go again" with a love triangle or some kind of action behind the sheets that might make some people squirm.

At least TPTB had the decency to include the mother and rock star's trist from 20 years ago at the very end. One thing I was wondering, couldn't have Jack used this encounter in the bus and send it over to Casey Novak at SVU for possibly bringing up incest charges against the rock star? If he couldn't be held responsible for the fire, surely he could face another form of heat of having sex with his own kid. Maybe that's a complicated topic, but if I were Jack, I would have used the incest charges as leverage for the "punk" star to cooperate.

One thing which did impress me was using another legal argument that we haven't heard of before, that of cameras in the courtroom. I don't know why the defense would have wanted that extra publicity. Then the argument of who read the girl's transcript was at first trivial, but later mattered. At least while the plot and performance has not been what it used to be, TPTB is giving us some new legal terminology for us to consider when it comes to real life trials and cases.
