Notes:
I hoped
everyone got a chance to see this at the new 9 PM slot, or at the very least
recorded this. In short, I hope people are now going to be aware about
this new time change and set aside 9 to 10 PM since this is going to be prime
real estate with NBC given that "West Wing" is gone and who knows
about "E-Ring." We'll just have to get used to this change just
as we did with SVU a few years back.
In any
case, I loved how TPTB incorporated a RFTH story and put it into the context of
the characters, be it regulars or guests. Danielle Mellnick was the
perfect person to have as the defense atty. Could she be running for
office, like Congress or something. I get the sense that her friendship
with Jack is now crumbling after that exchange in the end.
What I
liked about this ep was that it was believable. You can get a sense of
these sequence of events happening. It also brings up the debate again about
this war in reality and what should be done about it. I'm sure that
passions were arisen before-hand and there won't be a lot of minds being
changed, but I placed the value at 10 because the emotions here are real and
raw. That can be said about this fictional ep and the real war time that
we live in.
Didn't you
like the way Fontana played the patron of that hooker at the beginning?
I'm wondering if this was the best one of them all, compared to Greevey and
Curtis. I also liked how he would take charge one time and then find
sympathy for a perp, like with that brother. I did see what he does in
the teaser for next week and I'm sure we'll have lots to comment on
there. Maybe we'll hear another "We're authorized" line from him.
A good
solid plot and performance by everyone. This has to be moved up to the
top of the list for S16 eps. A great way to get us adjusted to the new 9
PM slot.
