Season 11 Review

Notes: To begin, this is the first time there has never been either Adam or Nora to offer some advice to the ADA's. The only time there was no Adam or Nora at all was the pilot back in 1988 "Everybody's Favorite Bagman" with Roy Thinnes as the DA. But I should point out that season 1 ep was the sixth ep overall in that first year. I have a theory this was the first ep taped in the summer, when the producers didn't have a successor to Steven Hill in place. This is the seventh ep, BTW.

Therefore in grading this ep, I can't include Nora nor penalize L&O for her absence. I must take my theory and give them leeway. But this is a very strange situation. I will therefore proceed with the rest.

A good episode with lots of memories being put to the test. I can only say it was great to see some familiar faces back, like Judge Rivera. Now we need the rest to restore our faith in the judiciary and not have Judge Wright as the lone spokesperson.

BTW, Brad Sullivan was in the famous "Mushrooms" ep in season 1 when Ms. Merkerson played a single mother who lost her infant. He played the defense attorney of the drug kingpin.

Ron Liebman was excellent again! He was my darkhorse to be Adam's successor. More of him, please!

Clarification is needed here. For the "semis" categories, I include judges who have been there before. This would include Judge Rivera. But in the case of Mr. Liebman, he would be considered a "guest" since he is in a different character from that of Paul Koppel in season 5.

Nice to see the police get more attention. I liked the intro into the inner workings of the police hierarchy. Need more of that and I agree Dan Lauria was great in last week's ep.

Seems we will see more of Abby doing the grunt work of going out and interviewing the witnesses. She is getting to know what Paul, Claire, and Jaime had to go through. But will we see more of Jack flying solo in the courtroom?

Here then are the Grades. The final Grade will be based on the total out of 90.

Lennie-10/10
Ed-7/10
Van Buren-6/10
Jack-9/10
Abby-7/10
Guests-10/10
Semis-10/10
Plot-8/10
Performance-8/10

Final Grade-75/90 which comes out to 83% or a B-

Lots of eps to compare with. Ex. "Corruption," "In Memory Of," the "Entitled" sequel.
