"In the criminal
justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally
important groups. The police who investigate crime and the district attorneys
who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories. Ching-Ching"
Lennie and Ed are taking
the subway from the squadhouse on a cold wintery day. As the train approaches,
something goes haywire causing the train to skid and emit a lot of smoke.
Obviously the other people at the station are running scared and seek refuge.
Lennie and Ed are OK, but they try to restore calm and call for backup. When
the fire department and the techs come, they aren't able to find anything in
particular. Suddenly, two people drop dead.
Lennie and Ed get back
to the scene after being treated themselves. Their first instinct is to suspect
terrorism. A CSU tech reports of a curious foreign and toxic substance that
came from the train car. The detectives then consult with the FBI about
possible terrorist groups involved. They begin questioning witnesses and
members of various groups to see if they can crack the case. They get nowhere but
more bad news of people dying at the hospital.
Suddenly they focus in
on one person who doesn't appear to be linked to any terrorist group but has
some access to these suspicious chemicals. During questioning, he appears calm
and relaxed to the detectives. He also appears concerned about what happened at
the subway.
At the squadroom, Van
Buren finds some phone records and financial data indicating the person was
less than truthful. It shows he was a disgruntled former employee of the
federal government who made some trips to the Middle East in the past year.
Lennie and Ed grill the person some more at the squadroom and eventually arrest
him for murder after Serena is convinced of the evidence.
I'll give you an
opportunity to write out how the "Order" part plays out. Keeping in
mind the defense attorney is Larry Weaver and the judge is Judge Schrieber.
