IRISH DANCING NEWS JUNE-AUGUST

The 2000 Louisville Feis was a great success thanks to all of the

families and dancers. Thanks to all that volunteered their time and

effort-it is truly appreciated. I am very proud of all of the dancers'

hard work as well.

The GLICS are in need of a chairperson for the 2000-2001 dancing year.

Responsibilities include the fall Ceili as well as the 2001 feis.

Anyone interested in taking on this challenging, yet rewarding position

needs to contact me ASAP.

SUMMER CLASSES

Summer classes for dancers competing in other feisanna will be held on

the following Mondays and Wednesdays: June 19 & 21, July 3 & 5 and July

31 & August 2. Please call for specific times.

Private lessons will be available for individual and small groups

throughout the summer for all dancers. The cost is $15/half hour or

$25/hour. Please call the studio to make arrangements.

FALL CLASSES

Dancers returning for the 2000-2001 dancing year must return the

pre-registration form and deposit by July 1st at the latest. If the

deposit is not received by this date, I will assume that your child will

not be returning to classes in the fall and they will be removed from

the class roster.

BEGINNER REGISTRATION

I am currently accepting registration forms for children interested in

beginner classes. If you know of a potential dancer, please have the

parent call the studio and a registration form will be forwarded to

them.

Saturday, August 19 Beginner Open House

Tuesday, Sept 5 Classes resume

Monday, October 2 1st Quarter starts

Saturday, Nov 11 Ceili (tentatively scheduled)

DRESSES

Fitting for the next batch of dresses is tentatively scheduled for early

September. Anyone interested in purchasing a new dress within the next

8 months should attend this fitting. Approximately 10 dresses will be

completed and ready to wear for the Ceili in November. Please note that

a down payment of $225 will be required upon fitting. The balance will

be due upon dress completion.

*****Dancers in their 3rd year of lessons are required to wear a purple

school dress for performances/competitions.******

Anyone interested in purchasing a new dress needs to contact me at the

studio ASAP so we can make the appropriate fitting arrangements. The

next fitting will not take place until next year, therefore dresses

cannot be guaranteed to be ready for the spring of 2001 unless ordered

in August.

Remember that if your dancer's current costume does not fit

appropriately, your dancer will not be permitted to dance.
