At just 2.5 metres long and with a turning circle of 8.7 metres, parking isn't a problem.
Ginger was delivered to us on Sunday 7th January 2001 as an exotic foreign import, with just 2 seats and left hand drive. She is in "Passion" spec. and powered by a Mercedes-Benz engineered 799cc common rail diesel injection all aluminium block. Transmission is through the "SOFTOUCH" 6 speed semi, or full, automatic sequential gearbox. She is capable of 80 miles per gallon and 85 miles an hour.
The Smart, (originally a collaboration between Swatch and Mercedes-Benz), is made in the Smartville Production Works, France. The Smart makes an ecological statement by its use of recyclable parts, powder paints free of harmful substances and energy conservation, both in use and manufacture.
The Smart has 9 interchangable bodypanels cast from thermoplastic granulate - Ginger's current panels are "Phat Red".
