| A soul searching so long and hard, Through years of torment and torture, Coming to cul-de-sacs at every turn, Will this nightmare ever end? Winding roads and busy streets, Twisting in every direction, The torture, torment and loss, Will this nightmare ever end? All these faces, all these people, A sense of direction they seem to have, A focus, a purpose, a sense of belonging, When will this nightmare end? Many paths to journey down, Many crossroads to face, Looking for signs pointing the way, When will this nightmare end? First a path of fighting to be free, Second a path of torture, Third a path of loss and confusion, Will this nightmare ever end? What path? What road? Which way to go? Each seems so full of torment, Is this all that can be found? Is this all life can offer? |
