Origin. East Asia.
Distribution in Canberra Region. Occasional patches in CNP and CUPP areas.
Dispersal. Mainly by suckering; and seeds.
General Description and Biology
A tall tree, to 10 m.
Leaves opposite each other, bright green, but yellow to red in autumn; serrated edges, prominent veins.
Clusters of orange-coloured flowers.
Invades dry forest and woodland.
Cutting of main shoots without adequate & effective application of herbicide results in a forest of new shoots.
