Cotton Fireweed
Senecio quadridentatus
Distribution in Canberra Region. Widespread but not abundant in the region.
Dispersal. Seeds are dispersed by wind, water and animals.
General Description and Biology
A spindly tufted plant, to about 80 cm high; often in small clumps.
Whitish-green stems, thin foliage, leaves silvery, long (4-15 cm), narrow.
Annual or short-lived perennial. Common in dry sclerophyll habitats.
Can be mistaken for St John's Wort, or saffron thistle clump when using brushcutter on the latter.
