Learning by Losing

Running through the valley of snow, the wind behind my back and all my cares in the world fly out with the wind.  Trip and fall roll down the hill.  It was like that before, although not as literal.  Slid to the bottom and across the frozen lake, gently slide to a stop in the center.  As I sit and think, whatever happened!  One moment things can be running smoothly then all fuck breaks loose, and five years after I’m still trying to come to terms with the heartbreak, the loneliness of being apart.  Cold wind ripping through my coat, and I wish you were here!  Don’t leave me alone, stay with me for a little while longer is all I can think as you turned and walked away.  The sun does little to warm a person in such cold, and a heart in such shreds.  But hopefully I learned something, if not then what a waste!!
