Imbolc Incense

Imbolc is the time for growth and renewal, spring cleaning and the first plants of spring begin to bloom. Candles are usually carried around the circle as a symbol of the Sun's growing power. Spells appropriate for Imbolc are spells dealing with new ventures, re-growth, beginnings and creativity. To connect with the energies of Imbolc place a White flower or an Evergreen-type plant on the altar. Another excellent way to connect with Imbolc's energy is to play Celtic music, since Imbolc is a Celtic festival that honors the Celtic Goddess Brighid.
Cast the circle, light the candles and incense, place the carnelian stone between the candles and say:
"Gracious Brighid I come before you
To honor the Sun's return, anew.
Within the circle I stand
I seek creativity to be at my hand.
Bless me on this sacred day
As I renew my walk in the Wiccan Way.
I seek the return of light,
On this blessed night;
(Place the silver coin in the bowl)
Brighid powerful goddess of creativity,
Grant me needed prosperity;
I ask you to bless this sacred rite
And share with me the Sun's strength and might.
