| My responsibilities include developing challenging and rigorous courses at both the college preparatory and honors and AP to prepare the students for the rigors of college while still meeting the individualized learning needs of my students while adhering to the Georgia Department of Education's Performance Standards.� In addition, I am responsible for developing assessments to evaluate student progress on these standards.� I have worked with both regular and special needs students and have taught in team situations.� Another aspect of my current position is to work with students to prepare them for standardized testing situations including the GHSWT, the GHSGT, EOCT's, the SAT, and the ACT. In addition, I have also served as the Lead Teacher for twelfth grade literature and composition for the past two years and as the Lead Teacher for tenth grade world literature for the year prior to that.� This position has allowed me the opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity while working closely with other English instructors to ensure the quality of instruction and consistency throughout our department as well as allowing me the opporunity to help students with scheduling and career planning. I have also served on our school's scheduling committee last year as we reevaluated the instructional and scheduling needs of our students to ensure they are given the most opportunities for academic growth and development. I am currently serving on our school's technology committee this year to aid with the implementation of technology in the classroom. I have also served on various school SACS committees as we underwent evaluation two years ago. Finally, I have worked directly with our county high school language arts coordinator, Carolyn Waters, and other English instructors from throughout the county on several endeavors. First, I have been trained by the College Board as a member of the area vertical team.� I also served this year as a Governor's Honors Judge at the county level. Over the summer I worked to "unpack" the new Georgia Performance Standards and to realign CCPS's county curriculum.� Finally, I have worked to write exemplary units that align with the new Performance Standards. |

| My responsibilities included teaching languages arts both to students in regular education classes and to students in gifted classes.� My position included developing a challenging curriculum based on the county's Academic Knowledge and Skills Standards and the state's Quality Core Curriculum as well as developing assessments to measure student progress.� I also worked with students to prepare them for standardized assessments such as the ITBS, CRCT, Stanford Nine, OLSAT, and GATEWAY Writing Exam. In addition, I served as both the school's language arts curriculum chair and the eighth grade curriculum chair for two years.� This position allowed me the opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity for the school while mentoring other teachers.� As the curriculum chair, I served on the school's Building Leadership Team, the Quality Improvement Council, and the Local School Action Committee. |
