Center fielder Willie Mays rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Grand
River Ghostmen defeated the Cleveland Mayors by a score of 8 to 4 at Yankee

The Grand River fans enjoyed the offense provided by Mays.  He lifted one out
of the park for a two run home run in the 1st inning, cracked a solo homerun
(his 32nd of the season) in the 6th inning and singled in the 8th inning.
Grand River managed 11 in their victory.

Addie Joss(11-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Joss got relief help from Sal Maglie who gained credit for
his 8th save.  Amos Rusie(2-8) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up
4 runs in 2 innings of work.
