WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Roy Campanella blocked the plate, saving a run!

Arky Vaughan blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Candlestick Park where the
indomitable Lake Erie Mohawks beat the woeful Hinckley Buzzards by the score
of 5 to 4.

The deciding run was scored by Lake Erie in the top of the 9th. After an out
was recorded, Mark Grace lashed a single.  Davis swiped second base.  Vaughan
then slapped a one-base hit scoring the run.  Vaughan took second on the
throw.  The Hinckley offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.

The win was credited to Dick Hughes(9-4) who went 2/3 of an inning allowing no
runs. Hoyt Wilhelm earned his 34th save.  Kent Tekulve(6-5) ended up with the
loss in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 2 hits in 2 innings.

'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate today' Vaughan said
after the game.  'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
