Jim Palmer(8-11) finally bested his Cleveland opposite, Carl Hubbell(7-14), by the score of 3 to 1. Palmer delivered a fine performance for Hinckley. He allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Cleveland had 9 hits in the game while Hinckley had 6, but Hinckley had the more timely hits. Palmer got help from Rollie Fingers who earned his 16th save. Hubbell took the loss. 'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Palmer said. |
