Clemente provided much of the offense. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 14th of the season) in the 6th inning and laced a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Kelso had 14 hits for the game and Hinckley had 11. Bob Feller(9-12) allowed 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Frank Arellanes recorded the save, his 2nd. Jim Palmer(7-11) ended up with the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 8 and 1/3 innings of work. |
