In a thriller the Cleveland Mayors staged a dramatic comeback then held on to
win over the N. Ridgeville Bandits by a score of 5 to 3 at Municipal
Stadium.

Cleveland came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  George Sisler led off and started the attack as he
slapped a one-base hit.  Edgar Martinez was the next batter, but he struck
out.  Al Rosen then lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his
10th of the season).  One out later, Joe Morgan came to the plate and smashed
a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 2nd of the season).  Cleveland managed 9 in
their victory.

Joe Berry(4-5) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Lefty Gomez(4-5) in relief.  'We just kept swinging the bats and
didn't give up,' Sisler said. 'If you just keep trying good things can
happen!'
