It was a real barn-burner day in Tiger Stadium as Brentwood Bearcats finally
pulled ahead to stay, winning a very exciting game by a Brentwood Bearcats to
10 score.

Brentwood had the winning rally in the top of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  Charlie Gehringer started the inning off right when
he drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Babe Ruth stepped up to the plate
and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 34th of the
season).  Luis Tiant relieved and was untouched by Athens as he recorded the
save, his 2nd. 

Bert Blyleven(3-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Harry Coveleski(3-3) was tagged with the loss in relief.  H
e gave up
2 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings.
