Nolan Ryan went 7 strong innings as the Brentwood Bearcats beat the Athens
Bobkittens in 10 innings by a score of 11 to 9.

The score was tied at 9 after nine.  Brentwood won the game in the 10th
inning.  Luke Appling led off and started the rally when he lined a single.
Johnny Bench stepped into the batter's box and he stroked a base-hit.  Juan
Gonzalez then delivered a one-base hit bringing in a run.  After an out was
recorded, Cal Ripken Jr. stepped up to the plate and he laced a single
scoring the final run of the inning.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead
change 5 times.

Tommy John(2-0) went 1 inning allowing 3 runs for the victory. Harry Krause
got the save, his 1st.  Mark Eichhorn(5-3) was tagged with the loss in
relief.  He gave up 2 hits and no walks without retiring a batter.
