The Kelso Hilanders easily topped the hopeless Cleveland Mayors; the final
score was 9 to 3.

Kelso took the lead for good in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  Jack Fournier started the inning off right when he
slapped a single.  Roberto Clemente came to the plate and slapped a one-base
hit, and an error was also committed, knocking in a run.  After an out was
recorded, Cupid Childs came up and he slapped a base-hit, and an error was
also committed, scoring the final run of the inning.  Cleveland was out-hit
by Kelso, 13 hits to 8.

Sam McDowell(11-8) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Tim
Keefe(3-10) was the loser.  He was unable to control the Kelso offense and
allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
