After another out, Edgar Martinez followed, but he was set down on strikes. Ernie Lombardi came up and he laced a base-knock driving in a run. Joe Morgan stepped into the box and stroked a single scoring the final run of the inning. Cleveland managed 9 in their victory. Joe Berry(2-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. The loss was charged to Rube Kroh(3-3) in relief.
