WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Rod Carew robbed Warren Spahn of a base hit.

Warren Spahn completed the game without help from the bullpen and Mo Vaughn
slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at League Park as the N. Ridgeville Bandits
beat the Cleveland Mayors by the count of 9 to 3.

N. Ridgeville took the lead off Old Hoss Radbourn in the first inning with 3
runs using 4 hits.  After two were out Ellis Burks was the sparkplug when he
stroked a base-hit.  Vaughn came next and he laced a one-base hit.  Al
Simmons then slapped a single which scored a run.  Freddy Lindstrom followed
and he doubled driving home another two teammates.  N. Ridgeville had a total
of 13 hits for the game.

The win was credited to Spahn(5-15) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Radbourn(2-4) took the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 3
innings.
