In the bottom of the 4th inning Athens scored 2 runs when they had 4 base hits. The key at-bat was by Joe Harris who thrilled the crowd when he cracked a two-run shot (his 4th of the season). Lake Erie had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Noodles Hahn(13-6) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Three Finger Brown earned his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was Pete Alexander(15-7). He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 11 hits and 1 walk. 'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Lake Erie's manager said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to take.' |
